19.ª Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (COSP19)

The MTSSS, through H.E. Social Action and Inclusion, will lead the national delegation to the 19th ª Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (COSP19) from 9 to 11 June 2026 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
COSP is the main international forum for monitoring the implementation of the Convention, bringing together States Parties, civil society organisations and experts to discuss policies and share best practices in the field of the rights of persons with disabilities.
The general theme of the 2026 edition is: “CDPD at the age of 20: celebrate and consolidate achievements and shape the next phase of implementation in a changing world” and is organised around the following sub-themes:
Round Table 1: Creating a world free of exploitation, violence and abuse for all persons with disabilities;
Round Table 2: Resilient societies: strengthening care and support systems to ensure the empowerment, autonomy and independence of all persons with disabilities;
Round Table 3: From participation to representation: strengthen accessible civic engagement, leadership and advocacy in political and public life.
COSP will have simultaneous interpretation in the six official languages of the UN, as well as interpretation in International Sign Language and hidden subtitling, and can be followed live through the online broadcast of the UN at: https://webtv.un.org/en.
